Does a photo this small actually need retouching?
Yes — for the right things. Clearer skin, neater hair, and cleaner clothing shift the overall tone and impression, and that reads even at ERAS size — and again when your photo is enlarged on screen during committee review. Skip the micro-details; retouch where there's a real, visible improvement.
Why does my formatted photo look blurry full-screen?
That's normal — it isn't low quality. The ERAS file is built to the AAMC spec (375 × 525 px, under 150 KB), so blown up full-screen it looks soft. At the size programs actually display it, it's sharp. Every order also includes the high-resolution master for LinkedIn, faculty pages, or print.
